A Week of Independent Study

This week's schedule has been drastically altered by the Language Arts MCAS scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday and so I wanted to provide an outline of how the math classes will shape up.

Monday will be a regular instructional day in that I will see all three classes and we will focus on the main themes presented in Investigation 4 of Say it with Symbols. I will also assign an independent study home nugget, due on Friday, that will require students to explore the majority of Investigation 5 on their own over the course of four days and solve a host of problems as well.

I will see each class just once in the course of the next three days (Tuesday through Thursday). This class session will be used to guide students as much as possible in their independent home nugget by clarifying questions and themes that will inevitably arise.

On Friday we will again return to a normal schedule where I will see all three classes.

Please be aware that on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday students will be testing and situated in the same classroom for a minimum of three and a half hours.
