Many students legitimately felt that they were unprepared to answer the first of the series of questions asked on home nugget #4. The problem asked students to consider data about painting a bridge that was clearly not linear and yet students were expected to create a linear model for this data.
In response, today's lesson focused almost exclusively on this idea of creating models for data that is approximately linear. We dealt with two problems in depth and students' class notes should reveal this.
To clarify; home nugget #4 is being reassigned (primarily for problem B2 on page 26) and a new lesson is being added. On Monday I will collect both home nuggets, now worth 8 points.
Reminder!
Math tutoring application forms are available and offered to any student needing additional math help or guidance. The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Specific information regarding the tutoring service appears on the application form itself.
