Parent Conferences and Clarification of Core Concepts

Summary:

Students are exploring coordinate grids, how to label points or landmarks on these grids and how to read and interpret maps in general.

They are ultimately interested in two major ideas:
1. What is the Pythagorean Theorem and what is it used for
2. What are irrational numbers and how are they useful

We search out answers to these questions by considering ideas that lead to these math themes. Think carefully about the home nuggets over the next few days as they will all lead up to culminating themes.
