Hello Parents and Students! I wanted to encourage you once more to take advantage of the Internet for additional practice on skills that are vital to this and future math courses. Today we made use of the www.explorelearning.com website to investigate order of operations and I reminded students that they can sign up for a free 30 day trial of this software themselves.
Additionally, students and parents should be aware that although homework is assigned every day, it is NOT collected or checked daily. Students will NOT be informed beforehand whether an assignment is being collected and must therefore complete all lessons with the expectation that they could be assessed. The majority of assignments are assessed and those few that are not should remain in chronological order in students' class notes.
Also, select students distinguished themselves on home nugget #8 by writing letters on the topic of exponents that were so comprehensive and potent instructionally that they were offered an extra credit opportunity. Should they choose to, these students will reproduce their work with minor revisions on a sheet of green paper to be displayed in class.
