Celebrating the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King - A Math Perspective

Summary

Students followed a different schedule today so the lesson varied for each class. The overall theme we were trying develop was that of the capacity an individual has to effect significant change. Depending on the class students were in, we either watched and discussed the relevancy of the film Boycott (schoolwide), talked about Bob Moses; a former civil rights activist responsible for developing the Algebra Project or investigated math activities that were designed to spark interest in experiential learning.
