Also, the majority of home nuggets and classwork lessons are worth a total of 4 points each, therefore the FCAs for a lesson should add up to 4.
Students can only complete tonight's home nugget by being active participants in today's class as we explored why exponents are used and how they make life easier for us.
Home Nugget #8
Assigned on Tuesday September 19, 2006
Due on Wednesday September 20, 2006
Directions:
Write a letter to a fellow student who was absent today and missed the lesson we covered. For instance, you may start off by describing for them how we began by discussing why our breath is so bad when we wake up even though most of us brush our teeth prior to going to bed. Your goal is to use your class notes from today to communicate as much information to them as possible, including any new terms we explored and problems we solved. Your Focus Correction Areas are as follows and you are reminded that a complete heading and legible writing are assumed at this point in the year.
Focus Correction Areas:
2 points: your work is in the form of a letter and is at least one page long, if not longer.
1 point: you include specific examples of new vocabulary terms and what they mean.
1 point: you include specific examples that will help the student understand the material that was discussed.
