Hello O'Bryant Students and Parents.
Welcome to an exciting school year full of transitional challenges and exciting advances. This blog is a means of promoting further communication between the school and home and aims to make expectations for the 7th grade math class clear.
The first two days of school, September 7th and 8th, revolved around routines, procedures and expectations. Students were provided with three documents to look over. These included a general information sheet to be filled out by parents, a letter outlining class non-negotiables and routines and finally a list of materials that also featured my teaching philosophy.
Parents should be aware that students are assigned homework (called home nuggets in our class) EVERY DAY. The first homework lesson is due on Monday September 11 and is comprised of four problems with very specific directions and grading criteria. I encourage parents to visit this site regularly as I will post the homeworks daily for your reference.
I also encourage parents to ask their children what took place each day in class and whether anything was learned as a result of instruction that was provided. We share the onus for guiding our students and I welcome accountability in all its varied forms.
I look forward to a productive and exciting school year and I encourage you to contact me with questions or concerns.
Sincerley,
